Yesterday I had the pleasure of treating a young woman (45), who had a double mastectomy two years ago, and full axillary lymph node clearance on the left side. She is active, manages her lymphoedema well, wears a full sleeve and glove and does the daily exercises. Despite this she suffers daily pain in her arm, her shoulder aches and she gets a build up of underarm swelling. Both arms were measured and there wasn't much swelling in the cylinder of the arm. Her right dominant arm was bigger than the left side. |
She also felt some of the other physiological responses associated with RLD, increased saliva and swallowing.
Afterwards, she felt relaxed and thought perhaps that her shoulder felt a bit lighter.
She left, having thoroughly enjoyed it saying she would email in a few days and let me know if there was much difference.
35 minutes later ( after a 22 mile drive home), she sent this email...
Hi Sally
Thought you might like to know already moving my arm is so much easier, under the arm the swelling is so much better and my arm feels normal. It is very hard to describe but it just feels much more normal than usual.
Thank you so much

I will definitely be seeing you again
Am still amazed how much it has helped.
