Since writing the last entry, which discussed the use of RLD with Fibromyalgia and ME , more information has come to light in support of this. A Reflexologist who attended one of the courses last month is also fully qualified in the Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage massage (MLD). One of her clients was invited to the course to receive RLD for the demonstration. She had previously had such severe lymphoedema, it required bandaging and MLD, although slightly swollen it was much better than it had been.. As there |
Last week we met up to chat about RLD & MLD, one of the points of discussion was how MLD stimulates the Vagus nerve.
I have since found a small piece of research, into Vagus nerve stimulation for treatment of Fibromyalgia. If MLD stimulates Vagus nerve function, then it follows that RLD may do the same.
Does this account for the successful treatment outcome when using RLD with clients diagnosed with Fibromyalgia?
